PCI-E means PCI Express, which is what the guy in the video says -_-

  • Nindiscods:

You said PCI-E, there is a difference

  • theimporter:

Hmm…. you might want to read my question just one more time.

  • Nindiscods:

No you will need a pci ssd

  • theimporter:

Will any 64GB SSD PCI-E drives work on the Dell Mini9 ?

  • seungheicho:

Can I do the cloning process from another computer? I want to copy installed programs from a samsung computer what I usually use.

  • joshstube:

I cannot find anything more on your SSD experiment with the old Dell 50mm on the Eee 901?
Can you post a link here?
    Thank You again

  • joshstube:

    Thank You for the tutorial.
Do you have any reviews about the easiest way to remove “crap ware” from Dell (& other devices) ?

  • yfzi:

ssd is faster and has no moving parts

  • NutsandGuts:

    it has all the crapware!

  • Kyodaikuma:

Quite a fast SSD but I’ve heard some comments about the heat this ssd produces, looks like it’s quite hot so my question is will this overheating reduce the life time of the ssd?

  • DjGisME:

SSD is silent and lifetime 1.6m hours – virtually unbreakable

  • Petchhyy:

Because SSD’s are infinitely faster than HDD’s, if you don’t need capacity your operating system will run way faster.

  • kristenheartnick:

I have a larger acer, but i’d like to get a mini just for typing things and the internet, and use my larger one for games and movies…i kno…i make no sence…Thats what michigan does to you

  • lekotar:

Why not just buy a Dell Mini with 160 GB HDD?! It’s just 20 € more than the SSD.

  • iinfiniteammo:

Yeah, at first I thought we were hearing some robotic Stephen Hawking computerized voice.

  • shuntfield:

Got one now – Yes much faster!

  • Curufin2:

    Finnish accents are awesome :D

  • fr0z3nmechanix:

I have to disagree… true… they aren’t built stock for power…. but… I’m the kind of person that wants more power packed in less volume… I like small devices that do EXACTLY what i want… these mods help that along. Although I don’t understand why dell packs these things w/ so much crapware… they’re slow enough stock as is.. it’s pretty sad… and when i was looking at the dell 10 at bestbuy… the crapware kinda turned me off to it.

  • shuntfield:

I want to install a 32Gb in my mini-9 – But cannot get them anywhere! – even worse in the UK – anyone got stock? :)

I saw one of someone playing WoW. But I’m not sure why you’d do that. It probably required some hardware upgrades.

I just ordered one. I’ll probably up the RAM myself for $20 and if the price of SSDs comes down, I’ll eventually increase the capacity. That or I’ll get a large SD card or something. Mine is only 512MB RAM and 8GB SSD. But I can’t wait for it to arrive! They look really cute.

  • skilo837:

yea but why would you buy a mini (netbook) to play games on????

the screen is only 8.9″ that would suck for gaming dude lol

minis are for mobility and designed to use less power .

so for gaming you need a big power hogging desktop with a good graphix card and at least a pentium 4 for the newer games.

  • RACHELbeChiLL:

the mini proably wouldn’t be able to play games. NO CD/DVD driveeeee
you’d need to buy an external one for around 50.00

  • DvdOwens:

becuase, im getting rid of my old laptop,
    and they run pretty nice.

  • ug0trickr011ed:
